Arletta Jean (Setnar) Powell, 90, of Renfrew, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, while under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice at her home, surrounded by family.

Born in Butler, on Oct. 21, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary Setnar. She graduated from Butler High School in 1951. She met the love of her life, James C. Powell, and was married on July 7, 1953.

Arletta and Jim have five children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her life was always about family. Her dream was to retire and take care of her grandchildren which she did very well. She was not only a fantastic mom, grandma and great-grandma, she also was a second mom to many of our friends and family.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 70 years, James Powell; daughter, Joyce Klabnik and her significant other, Gene Mills; son, James Powell and his wife, Debbie Powell; daughter, Judy Fleming and her husband, Doug Fleming; daughter, Jackie Kovach and her husband, Matthew Kovach; and son, Jay Powell and his wife, Heidi Powell; seven grandchildren, T.J. Klabnik, Mark (Jocelyn) Klabnik, Kaitlyn (Cody) Hare, Callie (Andrew) Gowarty, Courtney Powell, Lainy Powell and Autumn Powell; and two great-grandchildren, Isla Hare and Graham Klabnik. She also had several nieces, nephews and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Arletta was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Warren; her brothers and their wives, Vincent and Lee Setnar and William and Lucy Setnar; her niece, Debbie Hilliard; and her great-niece, Amanda Warren.

POWELL — Family and friends of Arletta Jean (Setnar) Powell, who died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, will gather from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Services to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a reception directly after in the church building at Kids Count Family Psychological, located at 226 W. New Castle St., Butler.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Butler County Humane Society at butlercountyhs.org or mailed to 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
