A Kittanning man accused of sexually assaulting three women between 16 and 20 years old was sentenced to serve 9 to 25 years in jail Thursday, Jan. 25, according to Attorney General Michelle Henry.

Officials said Zachary Baum, 25, used Snapchat and Facebook to message the women relentlessly and convince them to meet with him from between 2020 and 2022.

He was convicted of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, sexual abuse of children, corruption of minors, indecent assault, strangulation, stalking and simple assault after a week-long trial in October 2023, according to a news release.

“This defendant used social media as a means to prey on potential victims and commit sexual and other physical assaults,” said Henry. “This conviction and significant prison sentence would not have been possible without the brave survivors who told their stories to a jury.

“My office is committed to protecting victims and holding violent predators accountable for their crimes.”
