Pa. courts website faces cyberattack Monday
The Pennsylvania Court website is down after a cyber attack Monday, Feb. 5, according to officials from the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts.
The denial of service attack is affecting websites such as PACFile, the use of online docket sheets, PAePay and the Guardianship Tracking System.
Pennsylvania Chief Justice Debra Todd said there is no indication any court data was compromised.
“Our court information technology and executive team is working closely with law enforcement including the (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency), the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the FBI to investigate the incident,” she said.
Courts will remain open and accessible to the public, she added.
The denial of service cyberattack occurs when hackers flood the host or network with traffic until a crash occurs.
