Donald F. Mars Sr., 70, of Zelienople, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024.

Born April 25, 1953, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Donald C. Mars and Margaret V. (Foster) Mars.

Don was Episcopalian by faith. He worked as a finishing carpenter for many years and was a former member of the Masons. Don was a World War II history buff and a car enthusiast. He also enjoyed collecting and restoring toys. He loved animals, especially his dog, Tiffany. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, who will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Cheryl A. (Maczon) Mars, whom he married on Sept. 27, 1971; his son, Nicholas Mars and his wife, Amy, of Zelienople; his granddaughter, Chelsea Mars and her fiancé, Joe, of Colorado; his great-grandchild, Hudson; and his brother, Jeffrey Mars of Cranberry Township.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his son, Donald F. Mars Jr., who passed away in 2007.

MARS — Friends of Donald F. Mars Sr., who died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.

Don will be laid to rest at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Zelienople.
