Dustin James Paulsen, 32, of Lawton, Mich., passed away suddenly Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, at in his home.

He was born Nov. 18, 1991, in Butler, the son of David Achezinski and Sharon (Paulsen) McComick.

Dustin worked as a minister for many years and most recently was a worship leader at Freshwater Community Church. He absolutely loved working in ministry and spread his strong faith and positive outlook to many. Dustin had a love and talent for music that shone through from a very young age. He started a band with his best friends called “Back to the Good Stuff.” Dustin enjoyed playing baseball and watching his two favorite sports teams: the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins! Above all else, family meant the world to Dustin. His three children were his entire world and he loved nothing more than to play and spend time with them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Megan (Brandt) Paulsen; three beloved children, Amelia, Opal and Timothy Paulsen; parents, David (Dawn) Achezinski and Sharon (Tim) McComick; six sisters, Zeta Achezinski, Gretchen (Dan) Cash, Allison (Chuck) Sanders, Kristen McComick, Camden (Hal) Schneider and Erin McComick; grandmother, Virginia Paulsen; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Dustin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Eugene Paulsen.

PAULSEN — A memorial service for Dustin James Paulsen, who died Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Cabot, in the downstairs activity center. This will be a celebration of life and not a solemn occasion.
