Professional wrestling returning to Butler

Beast Man will be taking on Super Oprah in the ring for the main event match of a Pros of Wrestling show on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Tesla BioHealing & MedBed Center in Butler Township.

Dan Polinsky, promoter of Pros of Wrestling, said the match will be an entertaining display of showmanship and athletic skill. The main event match will close out an evening made up of seven matches between independent professional wrestlers with a variety of rule sets.

According to Polinsky, the scale and humor of professional wrestling matchups make each event an entertaining time for people of all ages.

“It's family-oriented; it's good for little kids as well as the grown-ups,” Polinsky said.

Pros of Wrestling has been putting on shows for about 10 years, he said, with many taking place in the Pittsburgh area. Polinsky gets professional wrestlers from around the nation to fight one another in matches that could be tag-team fights or three-way bouts. He said, however, that he doesn’t want to give too much away about the matches that will be fought at the Feb. 24 event.

Polinsky said popular demand prompted him to organize a wrestling event in Butler. He said depending on how it goes, he could make Butler-area events a regular occurrence.

“We chose to come back to Butler because I have had so many people over the years ask when we would have a show here,” Polinsky said. “I thought it might be time to do it because there has been a lot of requests from people.”

Doors open for the Feb. 24 show at 6:30 p.m., and the event is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $30 for front row seats for everyone, $25 for general admission, $10 for children age 10 and younger.

Tickets can be purchased on Pros of Wrestling’s page on eventbrite.com, or at the door, Polinsky said.
