Viola “Vi” Catherine Leonard, 79, of Harrisville, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024, at Transitions Autumn Grove, where she had made her home for more than 12 years.

She was born on June 4, 1944, in Manor, Pa., to the late Grover Cleveland Gongaware and Viola Catherine (Whirlow) Koebler.

During her lifetime, Viola worked as a nursing assistant at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Evergreen Nursing Home, and the VA. While living at Autumn Grove, she made many friends with residents and staff. She often stated how thankful she was for the kind loving care the staff gave to her. In addition, Vi often stated how grateful she was for all the kindness the family of her precious roommate, Gloria Rice, had shown her.

LEONARD — Per her wishes, there are to be no services for Viola “Vi” Catherine Leonard, who died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2024. She had arranged for private interment in Butler County Memorial Park.
