Gary L. Drushel, 83, of Butler, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 14, 2024, at his residence with loving family by his side.

Born in Butler, March 16, 1940, he was the son of the late R. George and Erla E. Logan Drushel.

He was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, Butler. He was very active with his church serving on several committees, including as chairman of the board of trustees.

Gary retired from Armco Steel in 1997 as a welder, with 32 years of service.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Cuban conflict. He was a member of the American Legion Post 117.

Besides working for Armco, he had a small trucking business. He also drove tractor-trailers for other businesses.

Gary graduated from Butler High School in 1958, serving as the treasurer for the Future Farmers of America.

Gary is survived by his wife, Judy E. Reitz Drushel, whom he married June 29, 1962; two sons, Michael F. (Debra) Drushel of Butler and Neil R. Drushel of Grove City; one sister, Carolyn (Doug) Hervey of Gibsonia; two grandsons, Danial and Ethan; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by two grandsons, Raymond and Colton.

DRUSHEL — Friends and relatives of Gary L. Drushel, who died on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024, will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at A. CARL KINSEY-RONALD N. VOLZ FUNERAL HOME, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Dawn Lynn Check, his church pastor, officiating.

Memorial donations may be made to Christ Community United Methodist Church.

He will be laid to rest in Butler County Memorial Park with military honors.
