E. Ronald “Ron” Schettler
E. Ronald “Ron” Schettler, 80, of Slippery Rock passed away Friday at Transitions Healthcare Autumn Grove.
Ron was born Feb. 8, 1937, in Pittsburgh.
He was the son of the late Edmund A. Schettler and the late Irene Barklum Schettler.
He was a sheet metal worker with Local 12, with 57 years of service. Ron attended St. Christopher’s at the Lake in Prospect and was a member of the Petrolia Valley Lions Club where he enjoyed being a clown. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and, above all, being around people.
Ron is survived by one daughter, Patrica Marie Teare of Pennsylvania; three sons, Ronald Schettler and his wife Deborah Rader Schettler of Connoquenessing, Keith Schettler and his wife Deborah Noto Schettler of Evans City, Michael Schettler and his wife Diane Gutauskas Schettler of Slippery Rock; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Ron was preceded in death by the true love of his life, his wife, Dorothy Werner Schettler, who died Aug. 31, 2004; one daughter Aleta M. Schettler; and one brother John “Jack” Schettler.
SCHETTLER — The family of E. Ronald “Ron” Schettler who died Friday, June 2, 2017, will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.
A blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Father James Bedillion of St. Alphonsus Parish officiating.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery.
