Historian to give presentation on Butler’s movie theaters
The newly-renovated Penn Theater will host historian Bill May at 6:30 p.m. March 22 and 23 for a presentation on the history of Butler’s historic movie theaters.
These include the Penn Theater itself, as well as the long-gone Majestic, Capitol and “The Butler.” The show promises “rare photos, video clips and stories,” as well as a look at Hollywood stars who called Butler home.
Tickets are sold out for both the Friday and Saturday shows; however, the theater has opened up waitlists for both dates, as it is “working diligently to increase seating,” per a post on the Penn Theater’s Facebook page.
