Turkey makes its way downtown
People traveling in Butler on Thursday morning, March 14, didn’t find out why the chicken crossed the road, but they got an idea of why the turkey did.
Kendra Hillard, of Butler, said she stopped her car Thursday when a female turkey walked right in front of her on Jefferson Street during drive into work at the Holly Pointe building.
“I'm kind of a country girl, I'm used to seeing turkeys — just not in Butler,” Hillard said. “I came down Jefferson and made a left on Washington and there was a car in front of me who went around this thing, and I saw that this turkey was heading north toward Main Street.”
The appearance of the turkey on a busy street actually left Hillard — and others — with more questions than answers.
“What brought her down to Main Street?” Hillard said. “This was like two minutes to 9 o’clock; there was not enough time to stop or take pictures.”
