Margaret 'Marge' Iarrapino
Margaret “Marge” Iarrapino, 91, of Butler passed away Sunday at her home.
Born in Butler on April 19, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Elizabeth Upaul Nagy.
Marge was a hairdresser, who started doing hair when she was just 13 years old. She owned and operated Iarrapino's Beauty Salon on West Cunningham Street in Butler for 30 years. She also taught at the Butler Beauty School.
She enjoyed playing bingo and fishing.
She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
She was a member and a former president of the Democratic Women's Club, and she served on the board of the Butler Sewer Authority.
She is survived by her two sons, Lawrence J. Iarrapino of Pittsburgh and Mark P. Iarrapino and his wife, Kathy, of Butler; her daughter, Michele Bitter and her husband, Gregg, of Butler; her four grandchildren, Melissa Heller and her husband, Kenneth, Trevor Bitter, Marc Iarrapino, and Emily Iarrapino, and her two great-grandchildren, Kyle and Kamryn Heller.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Iarrapino, who passed away on Oct. 3, 1987; her brother, Louis Nagy, and her five sisters, Ida Ausel, Irene Pellegrini, Betty Hall, Helen Gross, and Marsha Stein.
Iarrapino — The friends of Margaret “Marge” Iarrapino, who passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, will be received at the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery.For more information, go to www.martinfh.net.
