Helen G. (Lowry) Crawford
Helen G. (Lowry) Crawford, 79, of Butler passed away at 8:05 p.m. Monday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Dec. 4, 1935, in Butler to the late Robert Lowry and Mary Belle (Daugherty) Lowry.
Helen worked as a secretary for Schneider Heating. She also worked at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management in the underground mines in Boyers for many years before retiring.
Helen was an auxiliary member of the General Butler Vagabond, the Women of the Moose and a member of South Butler Fire Hall Auxiliary. She enjoyed making chocolate candy and loved crocheting.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by one son, Robert T. Crawford and his wife, Donna, of Butler; one daughter, Susan M. Crede and her fiancee, Charles May, of Butler; four grandchildren, Matthew Crawford, Michael Crawford, Ashley Ashcraft and her husband, Benjamin, and Max; two great-grandchildren, Scooby-Doo and Astro; one sister, Shirley Gomori of Youngstown, Ohio; Marie and Hunter Henry of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin E. Crawford, who she married May 12, 1955, and who passed away Aug. 14, 2005, and one sister, Janet Arnold.
CRAWFORD — Friends of Helen G. (Lowry) Crawford, who died Monday, Aug. 17, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev.
