Gordon W. Ice

Gordon W. Ice, 81, of Butler died at 12:45 a.m. today at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Jan. 12, 1925, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of Henry Harrison Ice and Pearl Stealey Ice.

During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corps 389th Division, and he was a prisoner of war.

He was a self-employed truck driver and was a charter bus driver for the Campbell Bus Lines.

Mr. Ice was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church. He also belonged to the Parker VFW and the American Legion posts, Teamsters Local 800 and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his wife. Edith Grace Gould Ice, whom he married June 4, 1947; two daughters, Mrs. James (Nancy) Jamison of Parker and Mrs. Chester (Janet) Conti of West Sunbury; three sons, Lloyd E. and Greg C. Ice, both of West Sunbury, and David G. Ice of Petrolia; 18 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by a son, a grandson, a sister and a brother.

<B>ICE </B>— Friends of Gordon W. Ice, who died Wednesday, June 7, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Thursday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Carpenter, his church pastor, officiating.
