BHS students garner awards
BUTLER TWP — Four Butler Senior High School students received honors at two different student contests.
Two students received an Award of Excellence at the annual TVT Spring Student Film Festival at Robert Morris University, Pittsburgh.
Brian Bresnehan and Dustin Furman won in the Public Service Announcement category for their video “Experiment With Art.”
In another contest on March 28, two Advanced Placement English students won first place in contests at the English Festival at Youngstown State University, Youngstown, Ohio.
Alex Mean won first place in “Not So Trivial Pursuit” and Maria Soldner won first place in an art contest.
The two were among 27 Butler students who read seven books before the event to be allowed to attend writing workshops.
