Curtis A. Peters, 90, of Zelienople, formerly of McCandless Township, passed away on Tuesday under the care of the Passavant Retirement Community, Zelienople.

Born Feb. 22, 1922, in West View, he was the son of the late Grant A. and Margaret (Williams) Peters.

Curtis proudly served his country during World War II and the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He was a 1948 graduate of Carnegie Tech and after many years of dedicated service, he retired from the Herrick and Held Printing Co.

Curtis was an original and longtime active member of the Harmony Line Barbershop Chorus of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. In addition, he taught at a community college in Cleveland, Ohio, and loved vegetable and flower gardening. While at Passavant Retirement Community, Curtis volunteered at many things including being treasurer of the computer club.

He is survived by his daughter, Beth Ann Penrod and her husband, Phil, of Marshall Township and his son, Robert Peters and his wife, Elizabeth, of Franklin Township; his sister, Helen Robbins and her husband, Morrison “Bud,” of Oakmont; and four grandchildren, Eric and Alan Penrod and Lyndsey and Nichole Peters.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois Jean Peters, on March 28, 2008, and his brother, Wade Peters.

<B>PETERS</B> — Arrangements for Curtis A. Peters, who passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, are entrusted to the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. He will be laid to rest at the St. John's Lutheran Church of Highland Cemetery.According to his wishes, there will be no visitation and the funeral will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Passavant Benevolent Fund/LAS Foundation, 401 S.
