Harold D. 'Howdy' Raub

Harold D. “Howdy” Raub, 68, of Sarver passed away Sunday at the Oakland VA Medical Center.

Born Nov. 12, 1942, in Sarver, he was the son of William Fredrick Raub and Esther Parsons Raub.

He was a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Army First Calvary Division. He served three years in Vietnam, where he received the Bronze Star and his Air Wings, one year in Thailand and three years in Europe.

He was a union carpenter for Local 500.

He was a former commander of the Saxonburg VFW.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and bowling.

Surviving are his children, Huong (Kerry) Howton of Phoenix, Ariz., Bob Cao of Vietnam, Lisa Raub of Houston, Texas, and James (Tina) Raub of Allison Park; two brothers, Glenn (Mary) Raub of Cabot and David (Sis) Raub of Warren, Ohio; three sisters, Margaret “Peg” Harvey of Sarver, Pat Klaus of Butler and Susan (Larry) Brink of Sarver; five grandchildren. Nicholas Cao, Ali Cao, Alina Cao, Tyler Raub and Jackson Raub; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was once married to Bi Thi Raub.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, William Raub, James Raub, Gene Raub and Dale Raub; two sisters, Anna Louise Daum and Charlotte Desmond; and a granddaughter, Victoria Raub.

<B>RAUB</B> — Friends of Harold D. “Howdy” Raub, who died Sunday, July 10, 2011, will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, Saxonburg, where the funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Sarverville Cemetery.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
