Rev. David E. Walborn

Rev. David E. Walborn, 92 of Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot, passed away Monday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

Born Nov. 3, 1923, in Butler, he was the son of the late Rev. Lewis D. Walborn and Ida Wimer Walborn.

David was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in World War II.

He was a missionary and minister for Christian Missionary Alliance Church in the Congo, Reedsville, Beaverdale, Bloomsburg, Danville, Allentown and Lock Haven, Pa., and in Brunswick, Md. He was a member of Freeport Road Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Butler. He enjoyed photography and reading.

Surviving are his loving children, Mrs. Linda (Randy) Corbin of Mechanicsburg, Pa., David P. (Jeanne) Walborn of New Winsor, N.Y., and James D. (Jean) Walborn of Whittier, N.C.; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his brothers, the Rev. Grant Walborn of Cabot, Henry Walborn of Butler, Robert Walborn of California, William Walborn of California and the Rev. Paul Walborn of the Philippines; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Ruth Walborn; and one sister, Wava Hilliard.

WALBORN — Friends of the Rev. David E. Walborn, who died Monday, Feb. 15, 2016, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg. Additional visitation will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the funeral home with his son-in-law, the Rev. Dr. Randall Corbin, officiating.Interment with military honors by the Saxonburg American Legion 683 will follow at Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.
