Richard E. Hunt

Richard E. Hunt, 76, of North Charleston, S.C., entered into eternal rest Friday.

Born in Sewickley, Nov. 11, 1928, he was the son of George and Georgia Wagner Hunt.

He served in the Navy Seabees during World War II. He also served in Korea.

Mr. Hunt was one of the original founders and officers of the Zelienople Community Park. He was a member of the American Legion, Rotary Club and Syria Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are his wife, Gretchen Diamond Hunt; a daughter, Sherry Gross of Harmony; two stepdaughters, Robin Davey of Fairfax Station, Va., and Karen Kwiatek of Zelienople; two stepsons, Charles Kniess of Harmony and Kenneth Kniess; a sister, Nancy Mercadante of Baden; and a brother; Donald Hunt of Ridgway. Two grandchildren, Travis and Tyler Gross; and six step-grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruthe Bosworth Hunt, who died Sept. 24, 1991. A son, Gary Richard Hunt, preceded him in death.

HUNT - A memorial service for Richard "Dick" Hunt, who died Friday, March 4, 2005, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Park United Presbyterian Church, 115 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, with the Rev. Cherrie Andres, officiating. All are invited to come and share in the memory of his life.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association, 11676 Perry Highway, Wexford, PA 15090; or Zelienople Area Public Library, 227 S. High St., Zelienople, PA 16063.
