Anthony T. Napoletan, 77, of Butler died at 7 a.m. Sunday at the Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Born in Butler, Feb. 3, 1929, he was the son of Anthony and Teresa Chiprean Napoletan.

He retired in 1984 as sales manager at Montgomery Wards after 32 years.

Mr. Napoletan was a professional musician and played piano with numerous bands in the Butler and Pittsburgh area. He also taught keyboard privately.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and during the war, he served in the Special Services as a music arranger for USO shows while stationed in Japan and Korea.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife, Mary L. Predmore Napoletan, to whom he was married for 50 years; two sons and their spouses, Anthony P. and Kris Napoletan and Steven J. and Johanna Napoletan, all of Butler; two daughters and their spouses, Tracy L. and Daniel Goettler of Butler, and Roxanne and Jeffery Brown of Renfrew; a brother, Edward Napoletan of Butler; and two sisters, Mrs. Raymond (Yolanda) Willison of Oneida, N.Y., and Mrs. Andrew (Josephine) Michael of Butler.

Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Gabrielle and Jordan Napoletan of Butler, Katie, Brittany and Patrick Goettler of Butler and Leah and Haley Brown of Renfrew.

He was preceded by a brother and five sisters.

NAPOLETON — Friends of Anthony T. Napoletan, who died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Center Avenue. Burial will be at the church cemetery.The Bereavement Group of St. Michael Parish will hold a scriptural wake service at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.Memorial donations may be made to the Butler Public Library.
