Alice J. Engleman
Alice J. Engleman, 84, of the Passavant Retirement Community, formerly of Monroeville and Turtle Creek, passed away Tuesday.
Born July 7, 1932, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rose Hnatiw Lesnick. She was married to William C. Engleman, who preceded her in death Nov. 12, 1973.
Alice retired as an executive assistant at Forbes Regional Health Systems. She previously was employed as a banquet manager for Howard Johnson's Hotel in Monroeville.
Alice's true passion was the theater. As an acclaimed director and actor, she was involved in many productions with community and high school theater groups in the Pittsburgh area. She organized a readers' theater group at the Passavant Retirement Community where she lived for nine years before her passing. She also enjoyed working as a freelance artist in floral design and was an avid gardener.
She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two daughters, Terri (Kerry) Hanahan of Gibsonia and Lisa (Tom) Leddy of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jonathan (Danielle), Lauren, Ryan and Will; and one great-granddaughter, Aria.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Joseph and Marlene Levine.
ENGLEMAN — Funeral services for Alice J. Engleman, who died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Seaman Memorial Chapel at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople with the Rev. Wilfred Goetz of Passavant Retirement Community officiating.She will be laid to rest at the Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville.Arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 324 E.
