British, Irish genealogy tips coming to Butler library

The Butler County Genealogy Society will host the webinar “Getting to Know FindmyPast, Your Source for British and Irish Genealogy” at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, in the Reading Room on the main floor of the Butler Area Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., Butler.

The presenter will be Jen Baldwin, a professional genealogist and data acquisition manager at FindmyPast, North America.

Baldwin is an author who has written many articles and guides on genealogy. She also is a regular contributor in the online family history community and hosts #genchat on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

She is a proud volunteer for the War of 1812 Preserve the Pensions fundraising effort and at the Larimer County, Colo., Genealogical Society.

Her focus areas include the Western U.S., gold rush history, fraternal societies, and using technology and social media in searching family history.

The webinar is open to everyone.
