A Gibsonia man died after crashing his vehicle on Gibsonia Road in Richland Township, Allegheny County, on Tuesday night, April 9, according to Northern Regional Police.

Chief John Sicilia said Wednesday the crash occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Gibsonia and Benedict roads and involved one vehicle, which went off the road and over a ravine.

The male driver was transported to a hospital for his injuries and later died, according to Sicilia. A portion of Gibsonia Road was shut down as police investigated and towed the vehicle, he said.

Sicilia did not identify the deceased.
