Lucille Mae Mullenax

Lucille Mae Mullenax, 89, of Cranberry Township passed away unexpectedly with her husband, Walter Edward “Eddie” Mullenax, Friday in the comfort of their home that Eddie built with his own hands.

Lucille was born Oct. 5, 1926, in Peoria, Ill., the daughter of the late Louis and Mary (Craig) Steele.

Episcopalian by faith, Lucille retired from Rowan Elementary School as a cafeteria worker.

She enjoyed making baked goods, especially around the holidays. She also enjoyed crocheting and giving her creations as gifts. She would often enjoy traveling and camping around the country with her family. She shared a special bond with her Dachshund dogs, and she preserved the family's genealogy. Lucille treasured and loved her family dearly, and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ellen Rape and her husband, Bruce, of St. Joseph, Ill.; her granddaughter, Lindsay Yates and her husband, Chris, of Long Beach, Calif.; her great-granddaughter, Julia Yates; her brother, Robert Steele and his wife, Margie, of Cranberry Township; two sisters, Florence (the late Walter) Wroblewski of Cranberry Township and Ruth (the late Bill) Wallace of Ellwood City; and many nieces and nephews.

Lucille entered into heaven with her beloved husband of 68 years, Walter Edward Mullenax, who she married Jan. 4, 1947.

She was preceded in death by her son, Edward Raymond Mullenax; two daughters, Deborah Ann Mullenax and Vicky Lynn Mullenax; and three brothers, Warren, Richard and Elmer Steele.

MULLENAX — Family and friends of Lucille Mae Mullenax, who died Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, will gather for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township. Lucille will be laid to rest with her husband at the Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in Eddie and Lucille's honor to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 810 River Ave., Suite 100, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, or to the Gardens Veterinary Hospital, 9087 Marshall Road, Cranberry Township, PA 16066.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Eddie and Lucille's family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
