Frederick Dewitt Carothers, 45, of Hilton Head Island, S.C., died July 2 at Bayview Manor, Beaufort, S.C.

Born in Butler, Feb. 10, 1960, he was the son of the late Merle and Betty Jane Christy Carothers.

He was the owner and operator of Fast Freddies Handyman Service in Hilton Head Island.

Mr. Carothers was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and attended the Grace Community Church, Hilton Head Island.

He is survived by two sons, Jesse and Matthew Carothers of Butler; a daughter, Hali Rose Carothers of Butler; a brother, Dale Carothers of Summerville, S.C.; a sister, Lu "Tootie" Hansen of Hilton Head Island; his fiancée, Donna L. Noll of Hilton Head Island; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and an aunt.
