Diocese of Pittsburgh appoints new superintendent
The Diocese of Pittsburgh has a new superintendent.
Bishop David Zubik has appointed Lauren Martin to take over as superintendent of Catholic schools effective July 1.
Martin will replace Michelle Peduto, who announced her retirement this January after a five-year run as superintendent. Peduto is currently undergoing treatment for metastatic breast cancer.
Martin was principal at Seton LaSalle Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. She previously served as assistant principal for academic affairs at Saint John Vianney High School in Holmdel, N.J.
Martin holds a master’s degree in education administration and leadership from Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J.
