Café-style concert set Dec. 4 at SRU
SLIPPERY ROCK — Kevin Spirtas, a singer and actor, will present “Holiday Nights and Days” at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 in Slippery Rock University’s University Union.
The café-style concert will seat attendees eight to a table to provide an intimate evening as Spirtas performs and talks about his acting career.
Songs on the program include “Night and Day,” “Old Devil Moon,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “White Christmas” and “Somewhere.”
Spirtas was cast as Hugh Jackman’s standby in the musical “The Boy from Oz” on Broadway in 2003.
His Broadway debut was in the role of Mike (“I Can Do That”) in “A Chorus line.” Since then he has been in a dozen musicals both on and off Broadway.
He played Dr. Craig Wesley on “Days of Our Lives” for more than seven years.
Spirtas has guest starred on the television shows “LA Heat,” ‘V.I.P.,” “Fired Up” and “Quantum Leap.” He has starred in many movies including “Friday the 13th VII.”
David Weinstein, a pianist and musical director, will accompany Spirtas.
Weinstein has produced, adapted and supervised recordings for Broadway Junior, Disney Theatrical Productions and “The Adventures of Flat Stanley.” He has toured with “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” and “100 Years of Broadway.”
Tickets for the concert are $8 for SRU students, $16 for youths, $18 for senior citizens and $20 for adults and are available by calling 724-738-2018 or at the door. Seats are reserved.
