Helgeson

Sheila Ann Helgeson, 77, of Butler, formerly of New London, Conn., died Thursday at the home of her daughter.

She was born April 7, 1932, in New London, Conn., the daughter of the late Raymond M. and Florence (Donahue) Neilan.

Sheila graduated in 1950 from the former Williams Memorial Institute.

Surviving are three sons, Neil O. Helgeson of Auburn, Calif., Eric J. Helgeson of Niantic, Conn., and Matthew K. Helgeson of Groton, Conn.; a daughter, Kim Helgeson of Butler; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Helgeson) Egli of California, Davis A. Watson of Waterford, Conn., and Nicole M. Watson of Wexford; a step-granddaughter, Samantha Russell Megrin of California; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Karl A. Helgeson, whom she married April 11, 1953, and who died Sept. 27, 1995; two brothers, Daniel E. Neilan and Raymond M. Neilan Jr.; and a sister, Ruth (Neilan) Reynolds.
