Marilyn S. Pesci, 77, of Butler died Thursday morning at her home.

Born on Nov. 23, 1935, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Nicholas Vargo and Ann (Shedio) Vargo.

She was a proud homemaker, mother and grandmother, who was devoted to her family. Marilyn was a lifelong member of the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She was an avid and world traveler and also loved pets, especially her dogs.

Surviving are her two sons, Thomas (Denise) Pesci of Gibsonia and Michael (Elizabeth) Pesci of Butler; her two daughters, Kathleen (Mac) Laing and Carole (Tom) Leonard, all of Gibsonia; her 11 grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, Tim, Dan, Anne, David, Connor, Tyler, Tori, Kaitlyn and Kien; her five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ruth (Jim) Bryan of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Pesci, who she married June 18, 1955, and who died April 14, 2002, and her brother, John Vargo.

PESCI — The friends of Marilyn S. Pesci, who died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Her son, the Rev. Thomas Pesci, will officiate.
