Jared Winters

Jared Grant Winters, 16, of Mars was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 400 of Mars.

He is the son of Cynthia and Grant Winters of Mars.

For his project, Jared oversaw the construction of an outdoor playset for the children attending Christian Community Church of Richland, formerly of Mars. The playset was completed in June, just in time for vacation Bible school, and it offered Jared the opportunity to give back to the church where he has attended since kindergarten and was baptized.

An active scout of 11 years, Jared has earned 81 merit badges and 12 Eagle Palms. He has received the Arrow of Light, and he is a member of the Order of the Arrow with Ordeal distinction.

Throughout his career, Jared has served his troop in the positions of patrol leader, scribe, assistant patrol leader, historian and quartermaster.

Jared is a junior at Mars High School. He plans to attend college, possibly to pursue a career in engineering.
