Valerie Jean Allison Arroyo, 52, of North Perry Highway, Mercer, Coolspring Township, Mercer County, died at 6:52 p.m. Saturday at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.

Born Nov. 22, 1957, in Ellwood City, Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Vaughn Eugene Allison and Nancy Bell Parson.

She married Pablo Arroyo on Feb. 5, 2003.

She was a homemaker and a Presbyterian.

She enjoyed reading, playing cards and watching the Food Network.

Surviving are her husband, Pablo Arroyo of Mercer; a son, Matthew Christy of Mercer; four brothers, R. Craig and his wife, Doris, Allison of Slippery Rock, Bradley and his wife, Jane, Allison of Slippery Rock, Brian and his wife, Robin, Allison of Slippery Rock and Gary and his wife, Sue, Allison of State College; a sister, Apryl and her husband, Todd, Klugh of State College; three nephews; three nieces; and a grandniece.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

<B>ARROYO</B> — Private services for Valerie Jean Allison Arroyo, who died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, were today at the <B>Smith Funeral Home, </B>Slippery Rock, with the Rev. Mark Frailey, pastor of Wolf Creek Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was at the Portersville Cemetery.
