Joseph B. Pink

Joseph Barnhardt Pink, 76, of Slippery Rock Township died at 6:30 a.m. Monday at his home.

Born in New Castle, Lawrence County, Nov. 29, 1932, he was the son of Alexander John Pink Sr. and Mary Ann Schrantz Pink.

Mr. Pink retired in 1994 from Cooper Energy in Grove City, where he worked as machinist for 24½ years.

Mr. Pink was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a lifetime member and former club manager of the Harrisville American Legion, where he served for 37 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Catherine "Cathy" A. Dyer and her husband, Jerry, of Stoneboro and Carrie L. Lang and her husband, Larry, of Harrisville; a son, Jesse B. Pink and his wife, Gloria, of West Sunbury; three brothers, William A. Pink and his wife, Delsie, of Slippery Rock, Alexander J. Pink Jr. and his wife, Rosie, of East Palestine, Ohio, and James P. Pink of Kittanning; four sisters, Louise M. Braatz and her husband, Howard, of New Castle, Frieda A. Monteleone of Butler, Doris L. Miller of Portersville and Frances D. Kaplan and her husband, Marvin, of Bell Canyon, Calif.; two grandchildren, Charlotte Pink and Sara Lang; four step-grandchildren, Scott Bartmas, Brittany Barger, Zachary Barger and Zane Barger; and two great-grandchildren, Marlee Jean Pink and Morgan Kohler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gerald J. Pink; a brother, John W. Pink Sr.; and a sister, Mary Frances Pink.

<B>PINK</B> — Visitation for Joseph Barnhardt Pink, who died Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa.
