Edward Lee Mackey, 74, of Chicora, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in the emergency room of ACMH Hospital, Kittanning.

He was born Jan. 10, 1950, in Butler, the son of the late John C. Mackey and the late Sarah Evelyn Wolfe Mackey.

He was a member of Trinity Reformed Church of Bradys Bend and a member of Sugarcreek Fire Department. Edward retired from Castle Rubber after 25 years of service. He liked woodworking, and being with his sons and grandsons. He especially liked working outdoors and doing water-well drilling.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Toy Mackey; two sons, Jeremiah Mackey of Butler and Kevin and Brianna Mackey of East Brady; two grandsons, Jonah and Bryson Mackey; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by a brother, John Mackey; a sister, Sara Mackey; one special sister, Margie Russner; and a brother-in-law.

MACKEY — Friends of Edward Lee Mackey, who died Tuesday, April 23, 2024, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024, at STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora, with Sugarcreek Fire Department Services last call, followed by funeral services at the funeral home with Peter Sapp, pastor of Trinity Reformed Church in Bradys Bend, officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church Cemetery, Route 268, Chicora.
