Shirley A. Lauteria

Shirley Ann Boozel Lauteria, 80, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Butler, passed away Tuesday in Florida.

Born in Parker on May 6, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Alton L. Boozel and Mary M. Snow Boozel.

She was a member of the Blessed Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Orlando and the Council of Catholic Women. She was a former member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.

Shirley was a graduate of Osceola Mills High School in Clearfield County and the Butler Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She received a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.

She worked as a nurse at Butler Memorial Hospital, and she taught for more than 18 years at the Butler County Vo-Tech School. She retired in 1993.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan Lauteria, of Orlando; one son, Chester Lauteria and his wife, Edith, of Orlando; and two granddaughters, Sydney and Isabella Lauteria.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Americo “Chi” Lauteria, who passed away Nov. 25, 1993.

LAUTERIA — Friends of Shirley Ann Boozel Lauteria, who died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, will be received at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian with the Rev. Fr. James Murphy, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

The bereavement ministry of St. Fidelis Church will meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Tuesday for a prayer service.
