Irene J. Patterson, 93, of Grove City, passed away on Saturday evening, April 27, 2024, following a brief illness.

Irene was born in Brady Township, Butler County, on Feb. 6, 1931, to Albert and Agnes (Fleeger) Kelly. She married George L. Patterson on March 16, 1951, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2022.

Throughout her life, she was active with The Church of God in both Grove City and Butler. She played the organ and piano and was a member of Sunday school and the missionary society of the church. Irene was always able to help with anything needed.

Irene is survived by a daughter, Cathy (Richard) Fritz of Grove City; a son, Jeff (Joan) Patterson of Hagerstown, Md.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Claypool; and two brothers, Albert “Lou” (Pauline) Kelly and Charles T. (Lynn) Kelly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Alberta Wigton and Louise Neely; and her stepfather, Raymond Hogg.

PATTERSON — Visitation for Irene J. Patterson, who died Saturday evening, April 27, 2024, will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Funeral services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake.
