New Zion church plans to show ‘Woodlawn’EMLENTON — New Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 1195 Airport Road, will host a family movie matinee at 3 p.m. Sunday.“Woodlawn,” a movie depicting the struggles of school desegregation in 1973 Birmingham, Ala., will be shown.Pizza and homemade ice cream will be served during the showing. Emmanuel church plans healing servicePROSPECT — Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 143 Church St., will have a “Healing Service” at 4 p.m. Saturday.The service will be open to all who wish to attend, no matter what religious affiliation.Pastor Gary Brown will conduct a traditional service which will include a healing portion, as well as Communion. The main floor of the church is handicapped accessible.

Ex-radical to talk of conversionKasim Hafeez, a British citizen of Pakistani Muslim heritage, will discuss his journey from radical Islam to being pro-Israeli at 6 p.m. Sunday at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 Main St., and at 1 p.m. Monday at Butler County Community College’s Founders Hall, 101 College Drive.The events are sponsored by Christians United For Israel and Crossroad Community.
