Marion L. Patterson
Marion L. Patterson, 96, of New Haven Court, Greensburg, passed away Monday in Greensburg.
She was born Jan. 5, 1915, in Jefferson Center, a daughter of the late Howard Leroy and Amelia Fruth Lefever.
Marion graduated from Butler High School and from Slippery Rock State Teachers College. She taught school for many years at several elementary schools in Butler and Westmoreland counties.
Marion was a caring and loving person who was always ready to help those in need.
During her lifetime, she and her husband lived in Murrysville, Westfield and Greensburg as well as in Pinehurst, N.C., and New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
She had been a longtime member of the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church and later the First Presbyterian Church in Greensburg and the New Smyrna Beach Presbyterian Church.
She and her husband enjoyed traveling and were passionate golfers, being members of the Sugar Mill Country Club.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy “Cal” Patterson; her son, James Patterson; and a brother, Gene Lefever.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Susan Patterson of Greensburg; a granddaughter, Kim Quatse and her husband, Darryl, of Crabtree; her beloved great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Jesse Quatse; a brother, Howard Lefever and his wife, Susanne, of Erie; her sister-in-law, Charlotte Lefever of Dubois; and several nieces and nephews.
<B>PATTERSON </B>— Family and friends of Marion L. Patterson, who died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, will be received Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the <B>Kepple-Graft Funeral Home</B>, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Martin Ankrum officiating.
