SR’s Anderson breaks school record in hurdles

Slippery Rock's Eli Anderson

Slippery Rock senior Eli Anderson ran the 110-meter hurdles in 14.44 seconds Tuesday against Grove City, breaking the school record of 14.54 previously held by teammate Levi Prementine.

The Rockets dropped the meet to the Eagles, 88-62.

Ali Popovec won the 200 dash and shot put in the Rocket girls’ 82-68 victory over Grove City.

Layla Colsey placed first in the 200 dash and long jump to help Karns City’s girls dominate Clarion-Limestone with a 129-21 decision on Tuesday.

In the boys meet, KC’s Griffin Booher won the 1,600 run and aided victories in the 4x800 and 4x400 relays as the Gremlins thumped the Lions, 126-24.

Softball

Neve Miller had two hits, including a home run, and drove in three runs in Seneca Valley’s 10-6 victory over Canon-McMillan.

Bella Gross, Kylie Staudt and Lexie Hames also had two hits apiece. Gross had three RBI for the Raiders (16-0, 13-0).

Hames had 12 strikeouts in five innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits.

Baseball

Brady Wozniak went 2-for-3 with three RBI in Knoch’s 6-5 playoff-clinching win over Hampton.

His single in the bottom of the seventh scored Landon Harrison and Kyle Morgan with the tying and winning run, respectively.

Jacob Stallsmith also had a pair of hits with one RBI. Logan Cypher tripled and drove in one run as did Cooper Allison.

Senior Braden Kriley started on the mound for the Knights (7-8, 4-6) and worked 4.2 innings. Hunter Lang earned the win in relief.

Knoch 16, Hampton 8 — Logan Cypher had four hits and four RBI for the Knights, who banged out 21 hits in this Monday game. Brady Wozniak had a triple, double and single while Aiden Jones had two hits and two RBI. Noah Glassic had three RBI.

Zane Pacek was the winning pitcher, striking out four in 6.1 innings.

Boys Volleyball

Butler dropped a match to North Allegheny in straight sets by scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-15.

Coleton Welter had seven kills and 12 digs for the Golden Tornado (7-6, 5-5) while Cole Wojnar added 10 assists.

Alec Teff dropped seven kills in the loss and Maddox McCall had 12 digs.

Mars 3, Deer Lakes 0 — The Planets swept the Lancers by scores of 25-12, 25-12 and 25-20.
