This photo, provided by the Philadelphia Public Ledger, was taken May 6, 1937, when the Hindenburg exploded over the Lakehurst Naval Air Station in New Jersey. The historic recording of radio announcer Herb Morrison’s description was played Friday at a dinner held by the Lakehurst Historical Society, which preserves airship history.
