Voice of Pinocchio, Dick Jones, silenced
LOS ANGELES — Dick Jones, the voice of Pinocchio in the classic 1940 Walt Disney cartoon, has died. He was 87.
His son said Jones died Monday after a fall at home. The cause hasn’t been determined. Jones was just 10 years old but already had appeared in nearly 40 movies when he got the part of Pinocchio.
In the 1950s he had roles in TV Westerns, including the lead in “Buffalo Bill, Jr.”
