Robison

Thomas A. Robison, 71, of Butler, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Sunnyview Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, where he had been a patient for just a short time.

Born in Butler on May 2, 1953, he was a son of the late Charles E. “Pete” and Marjorie A. Zitalone Robison.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served in the Vietnam War.

Tom worked as a painter for a painting contractor.

He was a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.

Tom spent his elementary years at Saint Paul School and went on to graduate from Butler High School, Class of 1971.

He played varsity football at Butler High and Midget football for the Institute Hill Mustangs. He also coached youth football.

He liked to fish, camp and spend time outdoors, and he followed and cheered on Pittsburgh sports teams. He enjoyed music and art, and he especially liked to paint.

Tom belonged to AA, and he was always thankful and grateful for his “AA Family.”

He is survived by one brother, John C. Robison, and his wife, Robin, of Lyndora; three sisters, Patricia A. Miller, of Butler, Mary Leyland and her husband, Michael, of Westerville, Ohio, and Therese Haley of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Larry Haley; and one niece, Carrie Miller.

ROBISON — Friends of Thomas A. Robison, who died Wednesday, May 8, 2024, will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with the Rev. Kevin C. Fazio officiating.

Military honors will be accorded at the church by American Legion Post 778, VFW Post 249, American Legion Post 117, and VFW Post 499.

Private entombment will take place in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Grapevine Center, 140 N. Elm St., Suite B, Butler, PA 16001.
