Richard Dale Southworth, died peacefully at UPMC Horizon Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

Rick was born in Butler on Dec. 10, 1947. He spent his formative years in Eau Claire, where he worked at Beatty Furniture and Beatty Automotive until serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Rick earned various unit and campaign awards during his tour, most notably the Army Commendation Medal, of which he was most proud.

Upon returning from military service, Rick settled in Emlenton, to begin his 35-year career with the U.S. Postal Service and start a family. He married Deborah Collingwood in 1972. Rick enjoyed playing golf and treasured the close lifelong friendships he made. Other interests included traveling, updating his century-old farmhouse and acreage, serving his community, and spending quality time with his family.

Rick is survived by his wife of 28 years, MaryAnn, sons; Adrian Richard (Lena) of Emlenton, Levi Dale (Nicole) of Laconia, N.H.; and his precious grandchildren, Jordyn, Jaimes and Maxwell. Also to cherish his memory are his sisters Sandra, Dixie, Dianne, Judy and Debbie.

SOUTHWORTH — A family celebration of life for Richard Dale Southworth, who died Tuesday, May 14, 2024, will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made in Rick’s honor to the American Parkinson Disease Association, P.O. Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306 or St. Paul’s Senior Living Community, 339 E. Jamestown Road, Greenville, PA 16125.

Arrangements have been entrusted to LOUTZENHISER-JORDAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 366-368 S. Main St., Greenville.
