James J. 'Jim' 'James the Artist' Mion
James J. “Jim” “James the Artist” Mion, 58, of Cabot passed away Friday at his home.
Born on March 5, 1956, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Angelo James and Rosemary Schnippert Mion.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from Dec. 11, 1975, until Nov. 28, 1981.
Jim worked at Cheswick Pools and Thermo-Twin.
He was a member of the Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Saxonburg Memorial Church Men's Club. He also volunteered teaching art to children. Jim was a gifted artist and a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed politics, sports, reading, and socializing over coffee at Kelley's Restaurant.
Surviving are his loving wife, Maria Marsh Mion, who he married on Feb. 14, 1982; his son, Joshua Angelo Mion of Cabot; his daughter, Jennifer Lee Mion of Cabot; his stepmother, Alberta Mion of Shaler; his brother, Martin Mion of Roswell, Ga., and his sisters, Rosemary Lippert of Zelienople, Carolynn Sills of Gibsonia and Patriciann Mion of Jupiter, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Giacomo and Virginia Mion.
