Bercurys win again with Always Gonna B You
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Always Gonna B You, trained by Bill Bercury and owned by Renee Bercury of Slippery Rock — won an $11,200 Conditioned Pace during harness racing action Wednesday at Hollywood Casino at the Meadows.
The 5-year-old mare increased her career earnings to $477,492.
Elsewhere on the card, Slippery Rock’s Brady Brown drove Latavius to victory in a $7,300 Conditioned Claiming Trot. Trainer Nathan Bresnahan of Butler and driver Shawn Johnston of Evans City combined to win a $10,900 Conditioned Trot with Whata Trixter.
Bresnahan added a second win with Knives Out, a 4-year-old mare in her 11th career start.
SRU’s Gillott names All-Atlantic region
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University redshirt sophomore Gage Gillott has been named first team All-Atlantic Region.
Having been named PSAC West Pitcher of the Year earlier, Gillott was 7-3 with a 2.44 earned run average this season, striking out 70 and walking 18 in 73.2 innings pitched.
