Harlan R. Claypool

Harlan R. Claypool, 85, of Kissimmee, Fla., formerly of Portman Road, died at 8:08 a.m. Saturday at the Good Samaritan Retirement Village in Kissimmee.

Born June 19, 1920, in Kittanning, he was the son of Loyal and Florence Claypool.

He retired as a heavy construction and building and trades carpenter after 33 years.

Mr. Claypool was a former member and deacon of the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church in Butler and was a trustee of the Good Samaritan Community Church in Kissimmee.

He is survived by his wife, Wilda; seven children, Virginia Fry of Wilmington, N.C., Carol VanderHeyden of Kissimmee, Ed Claypool of Columbus, Ind., Thelma Unangst of Prescott, Ariz., Berta Case of Flint, Mich., Wilma Smith of Hopkinsville, Ky., and Larry Claypool of Washougal, Wash.; and a brother, Paul Claypool of St. Petersburg, Fla. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

<B>CLAYPOOL </B>— Friends of Harlan R. Claypool, who died Saturday, June 10, 2006, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jeff Smith, pastor of Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, officiating.
