Margaret 'Peggy' Zoe Roach

Margaret “Peggy” Zoe Roach, 72, of San Francisco, Calif., formerly of Butler, passed away on Nov. 10.

Peggy was welcomed into her family on June 13, 1942, in Butler, by Esther and Robert Roach, and Peggy's sister, Cheryl.

As a child, she enjoyed her time playing and running around East Brady and her father's lumberyard.

She graduated from East Brady High School in 1960 and studied nursing at Jameson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, where she graduated at the top of her class. While there, she made lifelong friends. She graduated in 1963 and worked at Butler Memorial Hospital. She moved to New York to work as a nurse and later to San Francisco.

Her son Erik Luna was born in 1973. On Aug. 2, 1980, Peggy married Sigi Mo and welcomed Renee Mo into her family. Her son Robert was born in 1982. Her children and husband were a source of tremendous pride and joy for her.

In 1986, Peggy became a certified diabetes educator and worked at the Diabetes Center at California Pacific Medical Center. After retiring in 2007, she developed the diabetes program at Glide Health Center.

Her grandchildren, Beatrice Luna, Lanna Hirai and Elliot Luna, were a great delight to her. She regularly traveled to New York to visit them.

Peggy worked to make the world a better place for everyone she touched, her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her friends, and her patients. Heaven's doors were open on Nov. 10. She loved and was loved by so many. She will be missed dearly.

Peggy is survived by her husband; her children; her grandchildren, and her sister, Cheryl (Howard “Lee”) Rumbaugh of Cabot, and her nieces and nephews.
