Charlotte A. Rabel
Charlotte A. Rabel, 86, of Slippery Rock, formerly of Coraopolis and Neville Island, passed away Friday.
She was born in Pittsburgh's South Side on April 13, 1928, to the late Hazel Crites and John Berger.
Charlotte was a retired accountant with Harris Pump and Supply, retiring in 1990 with more than 20 years of service.
She was a 1946 graduate of Neville Island High School and the Valedictorian of her class.
She enjoyed water and aerobics. She also enjoyed knitting sweaters and afghans for her family, playing cards and rollerskating until age 72. She was also a member of the YMCA, Grove City.
Surviving are her children, Kathleen (William) Sterling of Slippery Rock, Margy (Donald) Ahearn of Bulger, George Schweitzer III of Atlanta, Ga., and Jo Ann (Lanny) Hewitt of Windridge; her brother, Charles Berger of Coraopolis; her 10 grandchildren; and her nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Rabel, in 1997, and her brother, Ronald Berger.
