Ronald Roessler Sr.
Ronald D. Roessler Sr., 60, of Adams Township, formerly of Cranberry Township and Penn Hills, died Tuesday afternoon at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
Born in Pittsburgh, June 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Louis A. and Juanita Shaffer Roessler.
He was a senior manufacturing engineer at Siemens Energy and Automation in New Kensington and formerly worked at New Castle Industries and at Cooper Energy Services in Grove City.
Mr. Roessler was a member of the St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars and was a former member of St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church in Penn Hills and St. Ferdinand Roman Catholic Church in Cranberry Township.
He also was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and the Institute of Industrial Engineers.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Giamportone Roessler, whom he married May 11, 1964; and two sons, Ronald D. Roessler Jr. (Tina) of Apollo and Philip J. Roessler of Smyrna, Ga. He was the grandfather of Tanner, Nicole and Christina Roessler; brother of Louis A. Roessler III (Debbie) of Martinez, Calif., and Walter D. Roessler (Virginia) of Walterboro, S.C.; son-in-law of Gloria Giamportone; brother-in law of Gloria Busa (Richard) and Francine Viglione (Michael); and uncle of Rich, Dom and Mike Busa and Jay, Tony and Michele Viglione.
ROESSLER — Friends of Ronald D. Roessler Sr., who died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the McDONALD-AEBERLI FUNERAL HOME, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Saturday at the St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, Mars, with the Rev. Charles Bober officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
