William John Snodgrass, 49, of New Kensington, Pa., died unexpectedly Tuesday evening at his home.

Born on Dec. 9, 1963, in Great Falls, Mont., he was a son of James R. Snodgrass and Janet E. (Seybert) Snodgrass.

He was a 1982 graduate of Yokota High School in Tokyo, Japan, where he lived the majority of his life.

He had worked for NexTier Armored Services until he became ill.

He was an avid comic book connoisseur, was a heavy metal aficionado, had started playing the guitar at age 14, loved music and had played in several bands, including the G-BATS along with his brother, Tom. He had a tremendous sense of humor and wild wit. He loved his cats, Taylor and Miss Missy, and was known for a motto “Have a good time all of the time.”

Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Yvonne (Burnett) Snodgrass, who he married on July 21, 1990; his parents, James and Janet Snodgrass of Butler; his two brothers, Tom (Rebecca) Altes of Lawrenceville and Dr. Jay (Kristine) Snodgrass, Ph.D., of Tallahassee, Fla.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tobias and Virginia Burnett of Delmont, Pa.; his two sisters-in-law, Susan Safford of Florida and Mary Burnett of Washington, D.C.; and his brother-in-law, Charles Burnett of Virginia.

Snodgrass — The friends of William John Snodgrass, who died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2013, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. The funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
