SRU athletics win PSAC’s Dixon Trophy
LOCK HAVEN — Slippery Rock University has won the 2023-24 Dixon Trophy from the PSAC, recognizing The Rock as the top athletic department in the conference this year.
The Dixon Trophy is awarded annually to one of the league’s 18 athletic departments that has the highest average finish in league-sponsored championships. SRU won this trophy once before, in the 2007-08 academic year.
The Rock won two titles in 2023-24 and had six runner-up finishes.
Bresnahan scores harness racing win
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Knives Out got a hard-earned win for trainer Nathan Bresnahan of Butler during harness racing action Wednesday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
The 4-year-old mare captured a $10,900 Conditioned Pace.
KC grad Kamenski named all-region
NEW ORLEANS — Karns City graduate and recent Westminster College graduate Anthony Kamenski has been named All-Mid Atlantic Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Kamenski finished with the No. 5 time in the region in the 400-meter hurdles, winning the Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship in the event with a personal-best time of 54.31 seconds.
